Financial Support

We hope that the following information is of use to our members. Below is a list of organisations that provide financial assistance and funding to players, coaches and officials. Please reach out to one of these organisations if you need.

Please also note that St Pats is committed to inclusivity and supporting members who may face financial difficulties while also ensuring the ongoing financial viability of the Club. As such the Club provides a range of payment options, reduced fees in certain situations and sponsorship opportunities for businesses. Members are encouraged to discuss payment options with the Treasurer as soon as possible. All discussions remain confidential with the Executive and will be handled appropriately. Every Chance to Play

Through a confidential application process via a Trusted Referrer, Every Chance provides vouchers to kids from families facing financial barriers to help cover the cost of their sport registration fee so they can experience the joy of a season of sport. If you would like St Pats to act as a Trusted Referrer for you please contact our Treasurer.

Women's Coaching and Officiating Program

This program is designed to provide financial assistance to ACT sport and active recreation clubs, associations and state sporting organisations (SSOs) to implement programs to provide accredited training for female officials and coaches at any level. Applications have previously opened in July and close in August.

Local Sporting Organisations

The Local Sporting Champions (LSC) program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships. Applications have previously closed in April.

Women Leaders in Sport

This grant aims to empowering women in sport & helping to create a culture which values gender equity. Opportunities include participating in an executive program and leadership programs as well as individual grants. Application dates based on the opportunity provided.

Lord's Taverners ACT

Lord's Taverners ACT is dedicated to helping young and disadvantaged people from Canberra and the region to play cricket and other sports (including hockey)  when they might not otherwise have the opportunity to do so. Individuals are welcome to apply for support.

Sports Excellence Fund

The Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund is a national charity that empowers talented young athletes facing financial hardship by providing $1,000 scholarships to those selected to represent their state, territory, or country.​​​​​​​

Australian Sports Foundation

Do you need assistance raising funds to play hockey? The ASF uses their Deductable Gift Recipient status to provide tax-deductible benefits to those that want to financially support you, along with tools, resources and personal support so you can reach your fundraising goals.
